Europe just concluded its soccer tournament held every 4 years (the Euro) on July 1st in which the top 16 countries play a tournament to determine which country has the strongest national team. The four semi-finalists of the tournament were Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal. Spain crushed Italy 4-0 (similar to a Super Bowl score of 45-3) to win the crown on Sunday.
The Southern European Nations dominated their Northern European brethren throughout the tournament. While the South’s economies are in a shambles, their athletes play beautiful football.
