What does Ron do at Eagle Ridge?
Ron is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, who serves as Portfolio Manager and Director of Financial Planning at Eagle Ridge. He brings enthusiasm and passion for serving clients and for solving complex wealth transfer challenges.

Where is Ron from?
Ron was raised in Stamford, CT in the 1950s & 1960s, attending public schools K – 12. A fun fact is that Major League Baseball Star Bobby Valentine was one of his classmates at Rippowam High School. He received a B.A. from Ohio University, followed by an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and then a doctorate in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University. Prior to joining Eagle Ridge in 2017, Ron had co-founded and managed Chapin Asset Management, a registered investment advisory firm, for 25 years in New York City and Fairfield County.

Things you might not know about Ron
Ron was born in Wimbledon, UK and holds dual citizenship between the United States and United Kingdom. Following a lifetime in Fairfield County, CT, Ron now resides on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with his two golden retrievers, Lucy and Beauregard.
Ron has also just begun his 50th year in the wealth management profession. As an academic, Ron teaches in the graduate programs in financial planning, housing and consumer economics at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and conducts academic research in behavioral finance, risk management and financial literacy. He has published numerous academic and practitioner-oriented articles and has served as a co-author of books on financial planning and financial psychology.
